Woman’s death may be case of mistaken identity

Police say initial investigations into the killing of 39-year-old Mariana Moonisar point to a case of mistaken identity.

Moonisar, a clerk at the Parliament, was shot in the head while sitting in a car in a drive-by shooting.

The injured woman was taken to hospital where she died hours later.

The incident occurred at Esperanza Road in Couva at about 5.30 pm yesterday.
